Postscript from Vancouver: replies and thoughts

I arrived home following 36 hours of traveling surprisingly free of jet lag.  So far…

After unpacking and making a dent in my pile of dirty laundry, I walked with my shopping cart – yes, at home I am a little old lady with a shopping cart! – six blocks to Safeway for groceries.  Not once did a driver honk her horn, not once did a cow wander onto the street, not once did a shopkeeper call out for me to come and see his wares.  How  bland my neighbourhood now seems.

En Route

Wednesday, January 11th – Newark Airport – 4:00 pm

I am finally on way, cooling my heels in the Newark Airport til my flight to Delhi leaves at 8:30. I watched “Best in Show” for about the third time on this morning’s flight. It was just as funny this time round. (Apologies to any offended dog owners!)

I’m happy I downloaded a good book by Elizabeth George and several episodes of “Downton Abbey” and “Sherlock.” I’ll get down to reading/watching as soon as I stop eavesdropping on a woman across from me who is trying to resolve some travel difficulties before her flight to Delhi this evening. Could she be on my tour?

Bye for now. Next post from Delhi. Yay!

About India North and South

India Trip MapThis blog represents a few firsts for me – my first trip to India, my first tour with Road Scholar (roadscholar.org – India: Treasures of the North and South) with which I have so far been mightily impressed, my first blog.

Join me as I spend ten days in the north of India followed by ten days in the south. If you are bored silly, tune me out. If you are entertained, enlightened, electrified, please let me know. I’m really hoping the creative non-fiction writing course I took pays off Kevin! 🙂

Sat sri akaal, nameste and asalaam alaykum!
